The Skyscraper Museum

The Skyscraper Museum is devoted to the study of high-rise building, past, present, and future. The Museum explores tall buildings as objects of design, products of technology, sites of construction, investments in real estate, and places of work and residence. DOWNTOWN NEW YORK: THE ARCHITECTURE OF BUSINESS/ THE BUSINESS OF BUILDINGS

This exhibition at 44 Wall Street illustrated the museum's mission and perspective, which expands the traditional interpretation of skyscrapers as objects of architectural design, products of technological innovation, and icons of corporate culture, viewing them also in their urban context as investments in real estate, sites of construction, and places of work. The show ran through December 1997 and was by viewed by some 20,000 visitors.
