Installation Views: Problems and Plans

The exhibition opened with an overview that placed the World Trade Center among the sweeping changes downtown, where the wholesale demolition of waterfront districts, landfill, and new construction of unprecedented scale were reshaping both the boundaries of the island and its historic skyline. The centerpiece of the first room was a model of Lower Manhattan from the collection of The New-York Historical Society.
