The Skyscraper Museum

The Skyscraper Museum is devoted to the study of high-rise building, past, present, and future. The Museum explores tall buildings as objects of design, products of technology, sites of construction, investments in real estate, and places of work and residence. This site will look better in a browser that supports web standards, but it is accessible to any browser or Internet device.

Sustainability is an increasingly important consideration in modern design and construction, and The Skyscraper Museum has long been a leader in identifying and showcasing both innovators and innovations. In addition to its exhibition, Green Towers for New York, The Skyscraper Museum hosts an annual sustainability lecture series featuring prominent architects, engineers, and building professionals discussing projects in New York City and around the world.

Below are highlights from the Museum's extensive archive of green multimedia. Classes can explore this material as a group, or individually - either as enrichment or as part of a lesson. Students should notice the changes in building that is leading to more environmentally friendly cities, and consider what green innovations they see in their own lives.
